We’ll explain why.
Step 1: Attract the Asian hornet
Fill the bait
The transparent bait reservoir allows for quick and effective visual inspection. Press both sides of the reservoir and it will unclip for filling or cleaning. For better effectiveness, we recommend replacing the bait once a week. For the type of bait, we recommend the mixture from the CABI.
Double diffusion
Inspired by perfume diffusers, two cotton rods absorb the attractant and intensify its olfactory power inside the trap. The closer you get, the stronger it is!
Air current
Open two windows at home and you’ll feel a draught. With 360° openings, we create the same effect to amplify the spread of the bait around the trap.
Team work !
This trap plays an essential role in collecting data on Asian hornets in Switzerland. Thanks to the integrated QR code and our online form system, catches can be reported in less than five minutes. The work of beekeepers is thus collected and analysed by the scientific committee, which has access to all our data to understand how the situation is evolving. Thanks to the work of beekeepers, the canton can therefore take measures approved by the scientific committee!
Simple and safe to use
Safety first
Changing the bait is easy and safe thanks to the filter. It is impossible to come into contact with an Asian hornet during this operation. To empty the trap, use a cooling spray to put the hornets to sleep, and always leave a few hornets in the trap, as they are the best attractant possible!
Easy to use
The trap can be hung up or placed on the ground. No adjustments are required and there is no risk of getting it wrong – we promise!Compact and lightweight: 18 × 13 × 13 cm and only 95 grams.
Step 2: Capture the Asian hornet
Capture at the top
Hornets are attracted to light and move towards the transparent and very bright upper part. The flexible cone acts as an easy-to-pass exit door in this direction.
One-way cone
The flexibility and geometry of the cone are the key to closing the exit. When the insect tries to push in the other direction, the flexible cone reduces the size of the exit opening. Capture is 100% guaranteed!
Step 3: Select who gets in and out
Too big? We block it.
The inlet diameter is specifically calibrated: large enough for Asian hornet queens but too small for European hornet queens. 
Smaller? Free exit.
The two-level calibrated openings allow bees and smaller insects to easily escape through the bottom or top of the trap.
Zéro risque de noyade
The liquid bait is inaccessible, as it is protected by a filter that prevents insects from drowning in it. The insects feed through the cotton sticks and then leave the trap.
