Our bee protection guard reduces the stress caused by Asian hornets while allowing them to be permanently captured.

OUR 4 PRIORITIES

1. Protection

Volume is the key to reducing stress and increasing your colony’s sense of protection.

Le cône supérieur flexible et rétractable bloque le frelon asiatique capturé, un détail essentiel qui améliore nos résultats !
3. Capture

The big difference compared with other bee protection guards on the market: we catch hornets by the dozen!

3. Productivity

Allows the bees to return to normal activity and focus on honey production rather than defending the hive.

Renouvelle l’appât en toute sécurité grâce à un système astucieux. Reporte tes captures de frelons asiatques grâce au notre formulaire scan & capture.
4. Use

Wide compatibility with most beehives and nuc boxes on the market. Easy cleaning and clever storage.

A PROMISING SECOND SERIES

Here are 10 good reasons to believe in it.

1. SAFETY FIRST !

Thanks to its large interior volume, the bee protection guard creates a genuine safety buffer zone in front of the hive entrance. Bees can move around freely, gather and observe without being directly exposed to attacks from Asian hornets.

Result: less stress for forager bees, a calmer colony, and a queen that continues laying eggs without interruption.

2. OPAQUE WALLS TO REDUCE BEE STRESS

The choice of opaque or solid walls for our bee protection guard is no coincidence: they significantly reduce stress within the colony. It’s a simple principle, confirmed by our field tests carried out in June and July 2025 in apiaries exposed to hornet attacks. Result: calmer bees that are less defensive.

In contrast, some bee protection guards available on the market use transparent panels, open grids or openings that are too large. In our view, this is a mistake: if bees can see their attacker, their stress level increases, which can disrupt their activity and harm the colony.

3. AN EFFECTIVE AND STILL SELECTIVE CAPTURE SYSTEM

As in our GOOD4BEES selective trap, hornets entering the bee protection guard are naturally attracted upwards by the light. They are thus guided towards the removable and easy-to-empty capture box, with no risk of contact.

This new capture box features three flexible cones: a central cone that provides a direct connection to the bee protection guard, and two side cones. The captured hornets then become the best attractant for drawing in other hornets from outside. These areas are also transparent, allowing hornets to see their fellow hornets and try to come to their aid. This ingenious system increases trapping efficiency.

Compatible with the GOOD4BEES selective trap, this box also increases the capture volume while allowing bees and other non-target insects to escape. The removable side cones make it easier to empty and maintain the capture box.

4. VERY HIGH ENTRY AND EXIT SPEEDS FOR YOUR BEES

Installing a bee protection guard means introducing a new environment at the hive entrance. To make it easier for your bees to adapt, we designed a removable front section. It allows them to gradually learn to exit through the front… and at full speed!

For best results, we recommend a three-step adaptation process:

Step 1: Install the bee protection guard without the front section and cover the upper opening.

Step 2: Install the bee protection guard with the front section raised, still with the upper opening covered.

Step 3: Install the bee protection guard with the complete front section and the capture box.

This way, the bees will understand that entering and exiting through the front is easier.

5. REDESIGNED HORNET-PROTECTION DOORS

At the rear of the bee protection guard (on the beehive side), the hornet-protection door can be installed effortlessly. The five 5 mm-high elongated openings prevent hornets from entering the hive. Once blocked in front of the entrance inside the bee protection guard, the hornets will naturally look for a way upwards and towards the light… and will all end up in the capture box!

At the front of the bee protection guard, the purpose of the front door is to provide greater rigidity when the cover is open and to keep the hornet inside when the cover is closed. Also note that the larger the opening, the more easily bees will enter and leave the bee protection guard. Start with the door fully open and close it as soon as the bees have figured out where to enter.

Be sure to install the front door at the end of the season, when dozens of Asian hornets force their way towards the hive entrance and eventually become trapped inside the bee protection guard before ending up in the capture box.

6. ONE FOR ALL!

Developed with beekeepers, for beekeepers, the GOOD4BEES bee protection guard can be easily installed on the vast majority of beehives and nuc boxes on the market, without any special tools.

🐝 Nuc boxes:

  • Dadant 6 frame
  • Mini Plus
  • STEHR
  • Voirnot divisible
  • Apidea (with aapter or for specific usage)

Beehives:

  • Dadant 10 frame (wooden floor or Nicot)
  • Dadant 12 frame
  • Nicot (new model with only one front bar)
  • Langstroth
  • Warré
  • Voirnot (without overhang)

The overhang or cover must be removed for the following models:

  • Rithner
  • Nicollet (Voirnot base)
  • Voirnot

Note: the height of the bee protection guard without the capture box is 19 cm.

7. ONE THAT ADAPTS TO YOUR NEEDS

Do you prefer a removable solution with eye bolts, or do you lean towards stability with straps?

Sometimes the material of the hive determines which solution is best. In any case, with us, anything is possible!

8. INJECTION-MOULDED PLASTIC: THE MOST DURABLE CHOICE IN THE END

Did you know that recycled or 3D-printed plastics become brittle over time? The micro-imperfections caused by these processes create weak points, compromising the strength and lifespan of the product. That’s why we made a different choice.

Our approach to sustainability is based on years of use without breakage, even in outdoor conditions. That’s why all our parts are injection-moulded using new, strong and homogeneous plastic. Production waste is crushed on site and then reused to produce the same type of plastic — with no compromise on quality.

Finally, whether for our traps or our bee protection guards, we add a small percentage of UV stabilisers. The result: better plastic ageing, even when exposed to sunlight.

9. EASY CLEANING

The bees clean the hive and their waste accumulates on the floor of the bee protection guard? No problem! Pull the floor towards you until it slides out of the groove for quick and easy cleaning.

At the end of the season, the floor and other plastic parts of the bee protection guard can also be cleaned in the dishwasher at 60°C, just like our GOOD4BEES selective trap.

We advise against washing capture boxes or trap containers that have been in contact with Asian hornets, so as not to remove the pheromones and to continue attracting more hornets.

10. CLEVER STORAGE

GOOD4BEES bee protection guards can be stacked on top of each other every 45 mm, saving a considerable amount of space. The idea was suggested by a beekeeper and, after modelling his idea, our community made us realise that lack of space is a common problem in beekeeping.

So there’s no need to put them back together next year, or the year after, or the year after that…!

BEEKEEPER TESTIMONIALS

DEVELOPED WITH BEEKEEPERS FOR BEEKEEPERS

Engineering that listens to and serves beekeepers, working together to create the very first industrial-grade, high-performance bee protection guard with a capture box.
One common goal: helping beekeepers fight Asian hornets during the predation period to save their colonies.

It’s an excellent bee protection guard. It protects the hive entrance while allowing the bees to fly as freely as possible. Practical and quick to install on my different hive formats.

Olivier Savary - Passion Apicole
Swiss beekeeper and breeder

When it comes to practicality, cleaning and storage, GOOD4BEES is simply the best! I can even install them on my 150 breeding hives and protect my colonies.

Philippe Tasseel - Beehave
Belgian beekeeper and breeder

A bee protection guard that traps effectively at a reasonable price. It’s what I call my “first line of defence”, helping prevent fatal stress for my colonies.

Fred Petit
Belgian beekeeper and inventor

I installed this bee protection guard on a hive that had stopped working. Half an hour later, I came back and couldn’t believe my eyes. The bees were coming and going as if nothing had happened!
